TRUE OR FALSE?
LATER, AS THE ANIMALS GREW LARGER, PLANTS DEVELOPED FRUITS AND NUTS TO ATTRACT THEM. AGAIN, WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE POINT OF SAY, AN AVOCADO TREE, HAVING SUCH LARGE FRUITS, BEFORE THERE WERE ANIMALS BIG ENOUGH TO EAT IT WHOLE AND CART THE PIP OFF TO SOME OTHER AREA, AND CRAP IT OUT?

HOW MANY SPECIES OF PLANT HAVE BEEN LOST BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO DEVELOP GOOD ENOUGH ADVERTISING AND DISTRIBUTION? IF WE COULD VIEW A LEAGUE TABLE FOR THE LAST BILLION YEARS, WHAT PLANTS WOULD HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY NEAR THE TOP? PROBABLY NOTHING BUT THE SIMPLEST, THAT GOT IT RIGHT FIRST TIME: ALGAE; KELP; GRASS AND MOSS?

FURTHER DOWN THE TABLE THOUGH, THE NAMES WOULD HAVE CHANGED CONTINUALLY, AS CLEVER NEW TRICKS WERE DEVELOPED:

IN THE SHORT TIME MAN HAS BEEN AROUND, THERE MUST HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF NEW ENTRIES: WHAT WERE THE CHANCES FOR FRUITS LIKE AVOCADOS, THAT WERE ONLY EVER PLUCKED BY RELATIVELY FEW ANIMALS, BEFORE MAN TOOK A LIKING TO THEM AND STARTED PLANTING THEIR SEEDS IN NEAT ROWS? NOW THEY ARE GROWN WORLD-WIDE AND WILL NEVER FADE FROM THE SECOND DIVISION.

THE SAME IS TRUE FOR POTATOES, WHEAT AND RICE THAT HAVE BEEN FARMED AND DISTRIBUTED EVERYWHERE SINCE BEFORE RECORDED HISTORY AND HAVE ESTABLISHED THEMSELVES AS PERMANENT OCCUPANTS OF THE PREMIERE
DIVISION.
BUT WHAT OF THE NEWEST ENTRIES SINCE CIVILIZATION CHANGED THE WORLD? It's apparently a religious festival, but is more famous in England as the time when everybody goes shopping for sofas.
So, inspired by DFS, we too are going to have a sale & knock out everything at pornographically naked prices (very near the bottom). So, whenever you see a DFS advert on the telly, think of the Jet Metal sale.

Now, when is Easter?
www.jet-metal.com

ps: I've drawn many storyboards for DFS adverts in the past.
When I started, the director was always correcting me, saying
"Draw the people smaller, to make the sofa look bigger."
So what happens on the shoot? It'll probably have the Bloodrunners strips all cleaned up [aesthetically - not morally] and the first twenty episodes of Jet Metal plus other stuff.
I've drawn Jet big, so a lot of the pictures will be full size pages, instead of the whole thing [episode] fitting on one page, which is very restricting. I'm quite excited about this and am already planning the layout and look of the thing [book]. I want it to be much more professional that the TrashMags of yore.
I'm torn between self-publishing and thus getting all the profits, or finding a publisher with a good distribution network, so that it gets into bookshops etc around the world [surely it has some attraction to non-bikers?]
Are you, or anyone you know, a publisher?

Jet Metal episode13

Just finishing ep13 this weekend to go to print Monday in UK and Australia. It makes it all worthwhile.
Thanks, Andy Sparrow
*******************************************************************************
Hi Andy, I was wondering what the chances are you have a copy of an old cartoon you drew for Bike back in the late eighties/early nineties. It was a guy sitting next to what looked like a Yam Tenere, with open face helmet and goggles. It was with a story about the desert and riding across it. I won't bore you with the details, but this was one I used to stare at for hours while smoking non-tobacco lie substances and dreaming about the future. Here we are! Would really like to get a copy of this if you know how I can...

Thanks for all the art - always was a fan and still am. T-shirt orders to follow very shortly, James
********************************************************************************
Dear Andy, Bought it, Read it, Loved it! next instalment please
*******************************************************************************
Hello, Many thanks for my recent t-shirt order which I received today. another order is on its way to you as I type this. Thanks again. Graham

I just received my copy of Feetstrikers sent kindly across the pond by some geezer called Andy!! I love Jet Metal (like that would be in doubt) The storyline and the artwork is comfortably familiar but new enough to make it relavent today. The fishbike talking to itself is bloody hilarious..reminds me of a certain HCS machine with a bad attitude.. Great to have you back A.S.
ps: PS Jet, you are a hottie!!
**********************************************************************************
G'day mate, I am absolutely stoked with your comic in Rapid magazine; it's the first thing I flick to. nice work. The previous issue said that you were giving away a t-shirt, I want one & just wondering how to enter. here
I am quickly becoming a big fan, oh yeah the wifes a redhead with the freckles so she reckons the mechanic has the goods, and by oath she's right!! cheers, looking forward to more in the future. Cheers Joel
*******************************************************************************
Hi Andy, Shirts arrived promptly after your e-mail. I'm very pleased with them really high quality. I've had quite a few shirts from you over the years but these are the best. Things are good with me enjoying this brilliant weather and riding as much as I can. Looking forward to the new strip Jet Metal, it will good to see you in print again. I hope that its at least as successful as Bloodrunners and attracts the same dedicated fans. All the best, Steve
******************************************************************************
Life imitating Art? We spent some time imbibing in the early hours at the Magna Carta this weekend, while reminiscing over Bloodrunners and looking at an awesome nitrous Katana called Hoover - yup only thing missing was the HCS.
You where the godfather of streetfighters !
Keep on inkin', Scouse
******************************************************************************
Hi Andy, Loved 'Blaktak'. I'm still proud to say I was in the Bloodrunners Video all those yrs ago. My Jack Shit Pin Badge is still on my leathers too. Keep up the good work
******************************************************************************
Hi Andy,
Brilliant site - brings back some great memories. The first bike mag I ever bought was the first issue of bike that had Bloodrunners in. It's still as entertaining as ever and maybe even more relevant as society rapidly turns to shit. Keep up the good work, Mick
******************************************************************************
Wow. Just finished reading "I.N.K". Amazing stuff, freaky and brilliant.
Zed
******************************************************************************
Hi Andy
Am glad you emailed me back - I found your website on a link on a link somewhere n after id read that novel I was blown away, wanted to read the others but had forgotten what your website address was called - was gutted! Now I'll be able 2 find it again :)
Do you have a myspace site? Catch u later. Jay x

THANKS! NO NEED FOR MYSPACE. I GUESS IT'S FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE THEIR OWN WEBSITE ISN'T IT? I LOVE TO BROWSE IT FOR NEW MUSIC THO'
*******************************************************************************
Dear Andy,
many many thanks, the t shirts are amazing, Mr Bird was so very pleased, took him right back..............ah bless!
He's even talking about getting his bike out again, but says i have somehow shrunk his leathers........?!
Again many thanks, if you ever down the Dales, give us a shout!
Ta muchly. Penny
****************************************************************************
Hi Andy, Thought you might like this, this guy can draw in mspaint like a master. Rgds Mike
*******************************************************************************
BLAKTAK:
Well done! I assume the classic "By His Bootstraps" (Heinlein) was one of your inspirations. I'm pleased that you took the time-travel principle and made such good use of it. The most impressive part is how well you filled out the story with very few words - you developed character(s) and background without particularly noticeable sections of exposition. Excellent short-story writing style! You also brought in the ideal twist of perception at the end. As someone who has read countless science-fiction short stories, I tell you that "Doppelgangers" has all the ingredients of greatness. And more... In addition to being a genuinely good SF story, it's a well-illustrated "graphic novel" (couldn't think of a more accurate term, sorry). Using slightly different styles/colours of the same scene is a great idea, and the drawing quality is superb. (I'm really curious to see whether FOUR's perspective will be even fuzzier or something else entirely.) By the way, I like the change of tense you use in the first paragraph and subsequent getting-out-of-the-chair sequences. Also, I found it interesting that you specified "black blood" when ONE saw FOUR bleeding in the back of the car - I've seen black blood used many times on film, but never seen it described in print before. Oh, and the use of colours in the illustrations plus quoted text plus headings to help the reader keep track of the phases is most clever. Well, I could go on but don't want to waste your time. Fantastic! Kathleen
********************************************************************************
Andy, BTW didn't you do art for a Boy George video? Why no link on the site? Cheers Adrian

I did! The song was called 'War is stupid' or something. It had a lot of skeletons in it, which I made. Not the first vid I worked on by any means though. That would be 'Man Eater' by Hall & Oats, which I conceptualized & storyboarded with/for Russell Mulcahy
********************************************************************************
Hi there
Bought a copy of the Bloodrunners film off Ebay, it arrived today, what a masterpeice, still cool now, Although I wasnt sure wether to be flattered or insulted when my Dad said the black biker looked like me on my GSX1100. Bit young to remember bloodrunners the first time round but trying my best to catch up now and in desperate need of some of your T shirts as soon as I find some. Cheers, Brad

***********************************************************************************
just typed in Bloodrunners to see if you were still around, and was totally stoked to find you alive and kicking, you and mad max were my idols in the 80's got the T's the mags and the vid my fav t was bastard patrol and have still got scratch addict print on my garage wall with my black Gixer 11 keep up the good work ,Jonny the boy.(not anymore) P.S. JACK SHIT RULES
*******************************************************************************
Bloodrunners was part of my childhood. i was sent home from school for wearing a "who is jack shit" tee shirt, and it must have affected me somehow, cos ive got a bloody shed full of matt black and silver 1100 katanas! John Regan Glad I could be of service! Andy
******************************************************************************
Hi andy, been into bloodrunners since watchin that video all them glorious years ago . also met yourself in the bike show 1 year when you looked a little worse for wear, i was browsing through your site and wondered if i could use one of your bike doodles for a tattoo. its like tribal but with bikes, let us know what you think? cheers, steve! Sure! As long as you send me a photo to put in the Hall of Fame. Andy
*******************************************************************************
Hi dude,
I saw your drawings of bikes and was totally awed by your skill. I would like to know is it possible to make a living out of doing this kind of work or at least something similar to it. Thanks
Vahid I have but I wouldn't recommend my route thru life. Andy
*******************************************************************************
Hi Andy.. My Harris was the bike used in the Demo movie (as jack shits bike). its now in sydney australia...how can i get a copy of the demo film that you showed at the birmingham NEC bike show that year..cheers mate....Phil (oggy) I'll email you soon. Andy
********************************************************************************
Andy, been having a debate with some friends over best films with bikes (or bike bits) in them, and some of them have never seen Bloodrunners!!! Any chance you've got a copy of the vid lying around that I could have? Cheers, Mal I do have a few left under the bed, with no labels or anything, and we now do it on DVD. Andy
*******************************************************************************
BOLLOCKS
*******************************************************************************
Andy, I was blown away to find this site... takes me right back to the mid 80s, I remember buying a 'one wheel's enough t-shirt'. You practically invented the streetfighter look and have done more for subsequent motorcycle styling than almost anyone else... thanks!!!! Slob

********************************************************************************
Like most people who visit this site, probably, I first saw your cartoons in Bike magazine back in the 80's. I got the t-shirts, cut out the comic strips, even had the video...which was nicked. Met you in Earls Court once, at the bike show, and then the strip vanished. Bloody Ogri came back. Just not the same. Cancelled my subscription...and for years I mourned the loss of probably the best drawn cartoon strip I had ever seen. Today...I surfed, and blow me...(Suzi)...here you are. Andy Sparrow...keep up the good work. I will be visiting your site on a regular basis. I love the drawings, sketches, doodles, stories. Just have one question though...just who is Jack Shit?
John Bonny Not telling

*******************************************************************************
Andy, Like yourself I'm a huge fan of the Bimota Tesi, Centrifugal steering makes absolute sense (and looks the bollocks too). Now you've probably seen the bikes that lazareth produce - often seen in streetfighters - including his 'rendition' of the Suzuki B-King (which suzuki have yet to wake up and produce). If, for whatever reason, you haven't seen the website, heres the link - www.lazareth.fr check 'em out... Fuggin' awesome. Take Care, Dave (GSXR 750 Slabby & Monster 900)

*******************************************************************************
Found ya....
After having bought every copy of Bilk mag with Bloodrunners in it over the years only to have `em nicked or lost in various abodes/squats can`t beleive your on-line!
Finally got my broadband sorted out so I can read the stories properly!
Still reminds me of my hooligan days bak then on FZRs and LC`s , and to all the t-shirts bought and then blagged by `ex`s !
Ink ...fantastic
Dopplegangers ....more so...
Good selection of links as well
keep it up...
phil
********************************************************************************
Hello mate, how you doing? Watching a film last night where some kids snorted Helium for the sound affects and someone asked if I'd ever tried Nitrous for the giggles. Sudden memories of a big shed somewhere in Kent and a few of us trying to get that actor type to laugh manically by all snorting nitrous. Didn't work for a while then we all fell about. Set off to film a few final scenes and kept nearly falling off the bike as bubbles of giggles erupted through my head.... Remember?? Then of course I had to get the video out and make the wife yawn yet again with my 1.2 secs of 'fame'
So did you ever get that Moto Martin CBX you lusted after? Any plans to do another film? (If so I'm buying another bike special like) Spent 18 months living around Amsterdam/Haarlem myself a while back - would recommend it to all. Keep scribbling - great to see it all again. Off into the loft now to dig out all my Bloodrunners bits and probably run the vid again....Neil

*******************************************************************************
Hi there, I've been reading Bloodrunners since about 1982 when I first spotted it in "Bike" magazine. I stopped buying it the day your cartoon strip was axed. I thought it was the dogs bollocks and have been mourning it's demise ever since. Not any longer, I was browsing the web looking for some bike sites when I came across a web-site on Fireblades called urbantiger. Steve, who no-longer has time to work on the site kindly sent me some details of your site and the HTML for the link to your site. I have put it on my site (only just got it going - don't know how popular it will be) Anyway - I will now be able to read your Bloodrunner strip again. Long Live Jack Shit!!! - Oh, and that sexy chick - how can a drawing ooze so much sex appeal! Hey there, really enjoying the site, glad it's gratis as for Kharra not being sure if the whole bike would work... it will! all the technology's already here, just a matter of amalgamating them into the same bike... turbo'd hayabusa engine, HCs from a Bimota Tesi, little framework, cusotm wheels nowhere near impossible in other words... I've been sketching/scheming ever since I first saw Hoover (like two weeks ago) money providing, it'd take me a couple months tops to get one built... any sponsors? : ) if I end up building Hoover (which I might well do just for kicks) i'll make sure to let you know until then. cheers. Kev
********************************************************************************
Wow glad to see it's all still going. Looking at the way you draw women
reminds me of the way the photographer Bob Carlos Clark shoots(!) them,
figure hugging outfits, etc. Maybe a collaboration there? An elaborated story
board of a shoot in the day of... Just a crap thought. He has two web sites I
think: www.bobcarlosclarke.com and shootingsex.com. God I should be an agent!
Well, thanks for Bloodrunners, after 18 odd years I still can't stop reading
Trash mag, and now your online. From a biker first and a struggling
photographer second keep it going. John St. John.
**********************************************************************************
Blaktak has got real promise, like the mood, like the characters and want to see more. The format is like a storyboard isn't it? Very movie...and I am not sure I like it as much as your regular style...the seperate words and pictures disjoint the atmosphere a bit...early days though! The bus ride was superb...anticipation spot on as each click brings the next part...and the colour looked real good. I have said it before, and I'll say it again...you've got it man. Checking out your stuff always fills me with optimism...so thankyou. I don't know if you remember my sleepy ramblings about atoms a awhile ago..? Well another way that I see the world is by the light that people give off...some people don't give off any (and thats fine), you can't see the light that you emanate yourself (you have to be told), most common is white, yours is not white (which doesn't mean your dark by the way)...I have only seen it in a few and then only in person...so to get it from words and pictures is rare. Things are better with people like you around. JASON.
*********************************************************************************
A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2" in diameter.
He then asked the students if the jar was full? They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with
a unanimous - yes.

The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and proceeded to pour the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children --things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued "there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix your bike.
"Take care of the rocks first -- the things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers."
Thanks to Alan Craft for that
**************************************************************************************
Just finished going through the site mate, crackin' stuff, good to see you're still on form. Awesome Artwork! I've fond memories of vainly attempting to copy the style whilst sat in Art lessons during the late 80's with a Bike mag hidden under the desk.. I'm sure I was supposed to be drawing crappy cans of peas or suchlike, but no chance. Art lessons were a time for bikes and kneedowns, scraping of pencil against paper in the hope the end result would be as good as your artwork. Guess I should've stuck to Cans of peas....LOL
Anyways, A question for you:
I have been searching everywhere for a suitable Picture to have done on my leg as a 'bike' tattoo.. The whole Harley thing just doesnt grab me...I was sat the other night and POP! it occurred to me that the most. . . what's the word?. . memorable Bike Artwork has been yours. it's always encompassed what I've dreamed of biking to be: fast, furious, power and . . well, I'm sure your own inspiration must have some of the same ideals as mine . . -Ii dunno.
Anyways. I am looking at getting a tattoo done, and I would be grateful if you could possibly supply me with something from your vast collection of art?
Ideally I'm after a bike similar to (dunno if this helps) image 31.jpg with a rider on it, with their knee down . . kinda an action picture of a futuristic sportsbike,as opposed to a 'still' picture? If you can help then id be most grateful.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Tim aka 'Kwackerz' SEND ME A PHOTO WHEN IT'S SORTED
*******************************************************************************
I wasn't going to bother but your heart rending plea for feedback twisted my arm. I remember Bloodrunners from the days of 'bike'. Bought the T-shirts, postcards, trash mags and kept everything of yours that I have got my hands on. I even spent hours reproducing some of it on my folders when I was at school so I know how long it must have taken you to knock out a whole page. What can I say? Those that have said you were years ahead of your time are right, although I can see where the ideas came from i do think that the way you represented them has influenced untold numbers. I have spent years obsessed with Hub centre steering and wide tyres (2 wheel drive is another 'personal' addition although you've done that as well at times) and always the styling comes back to that found in Bloodrunners. If I have a criticisim it would be the story line that at times goes a bit doo-laly but no ones perfect and the art work....well it always makes up for it. I was sorry to read about your eye problems, funnily enough when I started reading 'Bloodrunners' I didn't even smoke and found the drug/violence references a bit much, since then I have experimented more than a little and totally understood where you were coming from. I have also woken up to things as you have. I'm glad you found your way out and I glad it hasn't destroyed your obvious talents and that there will be more art coming. If I ever get rich a commission is a certainty. Good luck, Steve
*******************************************************************************
Been thinking a lot lately...and come to the conclusion that frequency is actually the answer to everything. You know the rate that our tiny little atoms vibrate? I couldn't sleep, too much going on, so at 2.30am-ish logged onto www.livejournal.com (perfect for insomniacs everywhere) and searched under the interest of motorbike. Brought up shed loads of journals of people who are into bikes in one way or another. Checked out their profiles...the other stuff their into, and its like mine. Put in a band, nine inch nails, the same thing, same interests. Read some of the journals, and the vast majority are feeling the same shit as me. Take some of those personality web test things like "what kind of vampire are you?" and we come out the same. Its frequency. Soldiers break their march over bridges so that the uniform beat doesn't break the bridge...frequency. Why do human tribes (like bikers) like similar music.......frequency. We are being controlled by our atoms man! Your art has a frequency....always has....that frequency matches mine, and obviously matches many others. I wonder what our collective frequencies could break if we could make them beat at the same time? Could it explain why some like twins, others like fours and someone else prefers a single? Do we pick a partner by picking up vibrations? Do drugs and alcohol alter our vibrations and therefore alter our world? I am not sure.....bollocks or logical!? Jason B
************************************************************************************
I can't believe that I stumbled upon your site, after meeting you at the NEC way back in 1988'ish.
You were saying to passers by (in a REALLY weird tone) "Buy a tee shirt, get a free porn mag!"....so I bought one
(well I was only 17. The mag is without doubt one of the best freebie's I've ever had.
A couple of years later I took the mag into work and got it nicked (If it was you, Danny Nickson, yer a thieving bastard).
Nice to see your still alive and kicking, Andy, now I'm going to have a good troll through your site, thank's!
Craig 'Hot Cat Splat' Williams.
*******************************************************************************
I remember the Bloodrunners strips in Bike all those years ago and writing to Brecon Quaddy to complain when they vanished - glad to see you have survived the nineties!
I help run Lamborghini Club UK now, and I have an old (1972) Jarama S, one of only 2 or 3 left in the UK - I remember the Bloodrunners strip with the Countach on Chelsea bridge... can't remember the storyline (will check it out soon tho'!) and how well drawn everything was / still is!
ahhh! riding to Chelsea Bridge and then to Heston Services on a Friday evening and back home for 6.00 am on Saturday morning!... Was such a big fan in the Bike days.
Your futurisitic looks and surreal humour were always sharp. Would love to see a Bloodrunners strip agiain.
I have to agree too, your bike designs were more than prophetic.
Keep up the good work mate!!!
*******************************************************************************
NAME: Toni
SUBJECT: Your Theory On Plants
FEEDBACK: Not only do I think it is a very logical theory, but I also have to say that this statement is being made by a female who is completely straight and hasn't smoked ANYTHING for ages. However, in order to come up with the theory in the first place, I think it likely that you must be someone who smokes regularly and on a fairly heavy basis. Only in that state of mentally relaxed stimulation could you possibly have had the headspace to have dreamt up this marvellous notion. More power to your stimulant!!! And cheers for the entertainment..
Lots of luck and smiles, Toni
You obviously haven't found one of my other 'missives' then?
*******************************************************************************
NAME: Tim Wilks
FEEDBACK: Blimey, has it really been that long ? I'm so crap at keeping in touch...
Still a big fan, still got all my magazine cutouts, stickers, T-shirts and especially all the original doodles you did for me. Particularly proud of the one you drew and your daughter coloured in with a silver pen.
Still biking : GSX-R11, Kawasaki triple and on the lookout for a Supermoto.
I'd swap 'em all for Hoover though...
me too!
*******************************************************************************
NAME: Gail Piche
SUBJECT: Bloodrunners Mag
FEEDBACK: Hi Andy-
When I was working in a bike shop back in the 80's, before nursing school and a "real" job, BIKE magazine was the only way I could actually find something that meant anything about bikes (this being the USA, of course). The mag was good, but the best part was Bloodrunners. Jack was cool, and Lom was okay, for a guy, but Suzi was the girl I wanted to be. BIKE changed, and safe ol' Ogri came back, I dropped my subscription, my life changed, and the garage emptied. Last week at work, daydreaming while my bank decided whether or not I should have a bike again, I idly typed "Bloodrunners" into a search engine and there you were. Today I picked up my new Ducati Monster 620Dark, and I NEED TO KNOW if I can get that Bloodrunners mag delivered here in the USA.. So, can I, can I? Thanks,-Gail
yes Gail, you can!
*******************************************************************************
NAME: Mike
SUBJECT: Ink
FEEDBACK:
WAAHHHH!!!!!! Please, please, please tell me Hannah survives! Love the ending tho, any chance of a follow up?
Do you still have Jack's old helmet? I remember drooling over it at the NEC years ago......always thought it should've been street legal tho!
Keep following the wobbly path - it will always get you there....
*******************************************************************************
Name: Myk Edwards
The lineage is finally revealed. Many people are at a loss for a response when someone says, "You don't know Jack Shit." Now you can intellectually handle the situation.
Jack is the only son of Awe Shit and O. Shit. Awe Shit, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Shit, the owner of Needeep N. Shit, Inc.
They had one son, Jack. In turn, Jack Shit married Noe Shit and the deeply religious couple produced 6 children: Holie Shit, Fulla Shit, Giva Shit, Bull Shit and the twins, Deep Shit and Dip Shit.
Against her parent's objections, Deep Shit married Dumb Shit, a high school drop out.
However, after being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Shit divorced. Noe Shit later remarried Ted Sherlock and because her kids from her first marriage were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Shit-Sherlock.
Meanwhile, Dip Shit married Loda Shit and they produced a son of nervous disposition, Chicken Shit.
Two other of the six children, Fulla Shit and Giva Shit, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Shit-Happens wedding. The Shit-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, Hoarse.
Bull Shit, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Shit.
So, now when someone says, "You don't know Jack Shit," you can correct them. *******************************************************************************
NAME: Steve Gayton
FEEDBACK: Love your stuff. met you at some of the bike shows in the old days still got some of the strips ripped out of BIKE magazine from when I was in my late teens. Used to ride a Z1300 at the time chopped of at the back to make it short no silencers semi-gloss paint & RAT legal stickers (one of those shirts would be good too) Got very into Bloodrunners spent a lot of time haunting late night McDonalds eating big svens and hunting out prey(usually boy racers in Xr3's but I had a couple of run in's with 911's and a 512 BB Ferrari) Good time's. Still reckon Bloodrunners is one of the great phenomenons of the late 20th century. You got it so right and like all visionaries you caused outrage amongst the old school (Ogri still sucks and should never been put back in) I stopped buying Bike after your strip was removed. There didn't seem much point. All the best, SteveG *******************************************************************************
NAME: Simon Ward
SUBJECT: Bikes, links and stuff
FEEDBACK: Hello Andy, great Web site. I remember reading Bloodrunners when it was in Bike, (yes I'm that old...). Please please do some more Bloodrunners strips. Fuckin' great strip, yep Lom was the hero, but Jack's bike was the dogs. You might want to check out the following link, some guys in Germany have built a pretty decent chassis. All it needs is some Bloodrunners bodywork and a Suzi 1260 turbo bolted in. http://www.vh-motorradtechnik.de/
Anyway, bangin' site, keep on doodling. And bring Jack back please. I bought a few of your t shirts some years ago when you were doing your thing in bike. Joined the club, got the shit head, which I wore proudly for years. Then I lost it, don't suppose you still have any, as I'd love to buy another. MAYBE I DO!! Anyway, as I was saying the art is fantastic and I wouldn't mind having an original piece of your work but couldn't begin to choose one, unless of course you have the original of a piece from the mag that I got when I joined the club. It was a thing with this guy a girl and a vicious dog that thinks he's attacking her with a club. THE X-CERT STRIP IN THE GIRLS SECTION? If you have it, would you part with it and how much would it be? 750 QUID! Don't forget the shit head, if you have any, I'd like to buy a few.
Thanks...
The art is great, you are a very talented man indeed. You should be getting paid a lot of money for what you do, but those of us who don't have a lot appreciate the 'Art is Free' thingy.
*******************************************************************************
NAME: Ady Kingston
Hi Andy, hope you are doing okay, tried sending email before, don't know if you got it. Very important for me to get it right!!
***********************************************************************************
From James Butler:
Not exactly feedback, but I thought it was about damn time I let you know
that I'm using one of your pieces of artwork as a signature image on an
internet forum. I picked it because I own the T-Shirt (Don't Tempt Fate - TAUNT IT) and liked the artwork. I animated the image (more as a practice exercise than anything else), and I think it looks pretty good:

The forum is www.visordown.com and I'd recommend it to you as a very enjoyable bikers forum, James Butler

Thanks James. I can't wait for the next episode. Only one point that I find a bit annoying is the huge amount of pages I have to go through to get through the episodes. I suspect that you may have done it that way to be more like a book but it'd flow a bit better on the web if it were on fewer pages (in my miserable opinion). WHAT DO THE REST OF YOU THINK?
The different coloured text for the different characters is a clever idea.
One last question before I bugger off, is there any chance that in the near future, you'll be putting more of your art on the site to be down loaded as wallpaper?
Anyway...cheers! It's good to see your still innovating all these years on. Do you realise that Bloodrunners is well over 10 years old now? Christ that makes me feel old. STEVE
********************************************************************
Love your art and always have, The Ink strip really shows promise, nice to see you retaining the same style, I particularly like the intricate backgrounds / hidden elements.
best, Timh
*******************************************************************T1: CHRIS BURROWS
Hello,Andy...met you at Ally Pally a GOOD few years ago...
glad to see you're still up and about.
You drew an excellent CBX (6)engine in one of your episodes
and I'm danged if I can find it amongst all my Bike Mags...
can you direct me to it and would it be possible to get a copy of it
on a tee-shirt or even get permission to put it on a
tee-shirt...there's a bunch of us (cbx owners)going to the TT from here
(the USA) next year and we want to do a tee shirt.
That image would be perfick!!
Regards,Chris Burrows in Kentucky
******************************************************************************T1: Alien
I thought you were dead then I stumbled on to your site
which is might cool I must say,
*******************************************************************************
T1: Sane
hey man, good to hear everything's going good. ive been a follower of jack for years since i was about 11 and me mam bought me a copy of bike it had a 250 gamma on the cover, anyhoo, it was the episode of bloodrunners where hoover has a dream and he wins the race, well man, its true, dreams can happen, just gotta keep workin on mine, anyways if you wanna say hi back id be stoked, and remember that one wheels enough!!! Sane
*******************************************************************************
T1: Graham Smith
Hello Mr Andy Sparrow,
You asked for feedback? well here is some.
I love Ink (font size is fine) and I can't wait for the next episode. In fact, I love all your drawings of girls and guns (and bikes), exactly the kind of stuff that I would be drawing if I could get my hand to do what's inside my head, although if I was drawing it I suspect that the sex would be rather more graphic. What am I saying? "suspect" my arse !
One final thing, in the original Bike strips I remember you plugging an Australian film (don't ya just love Aussie films? Mad Max, Shame, some other ones) about a big pig, which I think I saw on TV along time ago, but haven't heard of since. What was that called then?
